The course aims to provide the basic knowledge to: a) understand the geographical distribution and the temporal variations of climate variables; b) distinguish the main types of climate; c) get some information about the climatic characteristics of Italy.
Syllabus – The major elements that make up the climate. The effects of astronomical and geographical factors. Oceanic climates versus continental climates. Climatic classifications. Climatic characters of the geographical Italian regions. Climate changes.
