The student will demonstrate knowledge on how fiscal and monetary policy works. The student will be able to understand governments and central banks decisions and their influence on financial and real markets. The analytical instruments discussed in the course are of relevance for the economic policy debates with regard to the causes and the economic policy implications of the recent economic crisis.
