The model for the seminars is the research “Kolloquium” practiced by the German Universities. Different speakers (professors, PhD students, guests speakers from other universities/departments, specialists) are invited to present their ongoing research and to discuss their weakness and strengths with the participants. Every seminar (a minimum of six in the semester, every two weeks) is 30/45 min. followed by discussion. The goal is to create a space where young students and researchers can have the possibility to exchange ideas with experts in the field of classic and contemporary social theories. The student will learn how to “see” (from the etimology of “theorein”) social phenomena through the lens of theory and to formulate consequently research questions.
