Learning outcomes
The course aims at providing basic knowledge of the main methods for collecting ecological and behavioural data useful for a proper approach to wildlife management. The main points dealt with in the course are: 1) the survey methods of terrestrial vertebrates, with an in depth analysis of “distance sampling”; 2) the basic elements of traditional and satellite tracking and their use for estimating home range and habitat selection in animals. The teaching methods are both lectures and laboratory activity
