Corrosion and Protection of Metallic Materials
Code 675II
Credits 6
Learning outcomes
The objective of this course is to study the mechanisms of corrosion of materials in aqueous ambient, in order to provide ways to choose the best material for any application. Students will be given the appropriate chemico-physical background knowledge to deal with corrosion problems, in addition to diagnostic methodologies to pinpoint the type of damage occurring to materials. At the end of this course, students will know how to take into account the environmental characteristics in order to reduce or even eliminate overall material degradation.
