The aim of the course is to provide the students with e systematic knowledge of the chemical industry structure from raw materials (fossil and renewable) to the final products (commodities, fine&specialties, consumer) along the consolidated petrochemical threads as well as the emerging biorefinery threads. The course is also aimed, through a detailed analysis of the most significant industrial chemical processes, to show the operative conditions, equipment and process configurations adopted in relation to the thermodynamic, kinetic and overall sustainability constraints.
