The course is centred on historical periods from ancient Greece to the age of transition, with highlights on typological, constructive, spatial and stylistic features of the most important monuments, and on the meaning of the studied events, within the framework of the cultural, social and economic outline. We aim to supply students with skills about historical analysis and review, by focus on urban and architectural trends and milestones, introducing several subjects, centred on the main characters and key monuments. Because of the importance of visual language to know the architectural and urban occurrences and the way they were planned and built, the course sums up workshops which aim at graph review and interpretation of most important monuments. To complete the student’s education we moreover effort research methods and techniques in an analytic way. A compulsory-attendance (min. 80%) practical training course consisting in 40 hours is contemplated.
