Learning outcomes

Students must deal with the practical aspects of the job profile. They must attend: ward, surgeries and sickbays of the orthopedic clinic; first aid wards in order to learn the techniques of manufacture of bandages and plaster casts or orthoses; specialist podiatric wards to learn the techniques of rehabilitation of the foot and make kinesiotherapic treatments under control. Students must know how to make treatments of hyperkeratosis, ulcers and necrosis, even in case of diabetic patients.
Guided and direct experience about: Podiatric Clinic. Orthopedic Clinic (Orthopaedics department and physiatry; plaster room). Rheumatologic clinic. Neurological Clinic. Direct experience in: Podiatry Clinic, Orthopedic Clinic (Orthopedics department and physiatry; plaster room) First Aid Orthopedic Clinic (guided experience). Diabetic Foot Surgery (guided experience). Observations and guided experience in the surgery Room of the Orthopedic Clinic. Observations and guided experience in the instruments sterilization room. Guided and direct experience in: activities of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation complex. Guided and direct experience in: activities of non-invasive diagnostic imaging (dynamic). Guided and direct experience in: podiatry functional assessment (podiatric visit), simple and complex podiatric and orthotic treatments.
