Learning outcomes
Concepts and laws of thermodynamics. Phase equilibria. The properties of solutions. The principles of chemical equilibrium. The kinetics of simple chemical reactions. Physicochemical aspects of some atmospheric phenomena: greenhouse effect, global warming, radioactivity, atmospheric chemistry, acid rains, ozone photochemistry.
Objective of the course is to give the students a qualification in physical chemistry, in order they are able to understand the physicochemical aspects of some environmental phenomena, relevant in their professional training.
