Learning outcomes

The scope of the course is the study of the nuclear fusion as a source of future energy. The objectives are achieved by analyzing:
- the main fusion reactions and their cross sections.
- the plasma characteristics, its magnetic confinement, the toroidal closed configurations
- the main components of a magnetic confined nuclear fusion reactor (magnets, superconductors, vacuum vessel, shielding, blanket, first wall, divertor, vacuum systems, waste elimination system and tritium injection)
- other types of nuclear fusion: "inertial fusion", "Cold Fusion", " Muonic fusion "
- safety issues of the nuclear fusion
