Learning outcomes

The main aim of the course is the application, with the necessary additions and extensions, of some of the notions that have been imparted in the preparatory course of Environmental Mathematical Models to problems of environmental nature.
During the course such notions will be applied to the design and implementation of models to be used as cognitive tools and as decisions aiding tools.
The course refreshes and refines basic notions about dynamic systems and their models.
The course is based on an advanced use of the Vensim software (for the modeling and simulation of dynamic systems through the numerical solution of systems of differential equations) even in combination with Excel or similar programs.
The course is based on the presentation and analysis of numerous case studies.
