The aim of this course is to teach the student how to simulate analog and digital radio transmission systems with Labview, MATLAB and other scripting languages. For example, the student will be able to implement in MATLAB both transmitter and receiver routines for a PAM system, calculate the system performance with Monte-Carlo simulations and compare it with the theoretical curves. In the second part of the course, the student will learn basic principles of how to code programmable radio devices (software defined radio, SDR)
