This course aims at introducing methodologies for describing the electromagnetic wave propagation in coaxial cables and rectangular waveguides, through a transmission line approach. Scattering and ABCD matrix approach will be introduced to analyse microwave devices, which will be tested with microwave laboratory instrumentation and software tools. Finally, the principal parameters of both transmitting and receiving antennas are defined as well as the basic principles for designing phased arrays antennas.
