Learning outcomes

The course aims to develop metalinguistic competences and textual skills, enhancing reflection on the syntactic structures of the Russian language and on the strategies and implications of the translation of texts of different types. Together with the monographic course held by the lecturer, practical lectures will be delivered by mother tongue linguistic experts. The lectures will enable the students to achieve a linguistic competence equivalent to the B2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, allowing the learners to meet the main communication needs in different socio-cultural, learning or professional areas. The learners will have the opportunity to carry out on-site activities in Russian according to their technical-scientific or humanistic oriented specialization. By the end of the course the students: will have acquired the B2 level linguistic-communicative skills and will be able to master the grammatical structures of the Russian language and the vocabulary required by B2 level; understand and sustain a conversation on complex topics, both concrete and abstract; express themselves spontaneously in multiple situations of different communication fields, producing a congruous reaction. They will also be able to produce clear and detailed texts on various topics, and support a point of view by providing the pro’s and con’s. The students will be able to deepen the linguistic and translational notions with particular attention to the knowledge of the syntactic organization of the Russian language and punctuation; will use the necessary tools provided by the teacher to consolidate a methodological approach to active translation (It-Ru, and vice versa); will be able to translate texts of different functional styles taking into account the critical use of adequate translation techniques and effective strategies; will have acquired the skills to analyse and correct their translations from a morphosyntactic, lexical-semantic and orthographic point of view, with the awareness of translation problems and errors typical of the Italian speakers; will be able to carry out the stylistic and translational analysis of authentic texts and highlight the characteristics of the different text types with critical reflection.
