Learning outcomes
The course consists of two parts: 1) a thematic course given by the lecturer and 2) a language practice component (“lettorato”) taught by native English-speaking instructors. Both the course and the language practice component aim at bringing the students to a B2+ level of proficiency with reference to the CEFRL. This implies that they can understand complex and extended texts and speech on abstract topics in various communicative contexts, also inferring implicit meanings; they can write clear, detailed, and well-structured texts that explain viewpoints with supporting arguments and apply theoretical models of textual analysis covered in the lecturer’s course; they can express themselves with a relatively high degree of accuracy, fluency, and spontaneity on various topics, as well as the thematic course content; they can interact with native speakers without strain for either party.
