Learning outcomes

The course is made up of two parts: a thematic course given by the lecturers and a “lettorato” (language practice) taught by English speaking instructors. Both the course and the language practice aim at bringing the students to the C1 (advanced) level of proficiency in English, which according to the CEFRL implies that they can understand a wide range of texts, and recognise implicit meaning in them; they can express themselves fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for the right expression; they can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes; they can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing correct use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
