Learning outcomes
To provide theoretical and practical knowledges required for functional and performance based design of railways and airports. For the first type of infrastructure, the course deals with problems related to geometric design of stations and railway lines, design of the elements composing the infrastructure, with particular regard to the track, for which the aspects related to construction and maintenance will be treated as well. As far as airports is regarding, the course deals with the aspects related to airport planning and operation, site choise, runway safety and geometry, design of aprons and airport pavements.
