The course aims at providing to the students the knowledge and the instruments for the design, the modelling, the analysis and the assessment of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and wooden structures in seismic area. Modelling and analysis, in particular, will be deeply presented and explained for what concerns both the linear and the nonlinear field. The basic knowledge needed for the seismic design of structures using passive protection systems (such as isolation systems or dissipative devices) will be also provided.
