The course aims to provide the required preparation for the design of ordinary bridges. The general program of the course includes: general indications, conceptual design of the bridge, location, historical evolution of bridges, evaluation of actions, safety assessment, through arch bridges, frame arches, bridge girder, metal trusses, steel and concrete box girder, composite steel-concrete systems, piers and abutments.
