The course, as a follow-on of a training in the radar and remote sensing field of technological and first-level processing kind, targets to furnish an introduction to the synthesis of remote sensing applications and services for Earth Observation, environmental monitoring, prevention and handling of natural risks, based on electro-optical and microwave systems. Students will learn pertinent methodological tools, in a global vision of definition and evaluation of the entire processing chain; emphasis is on advanced methods of extraction of specific physical information at the end user level (geo-information imaging products), for the main and representative applications in various areas of environmental monitoring, and on new development trends (including ASI/ESA satellite missions and EU service programs).
