The goal of the course Intelligent Wireless Technologies is to present students with the most modern technologies for the management of radio resources. With this aim, the course will first deal with the study of traditional radio spectrum management techniques in the latest generation cellular systems. Subsequently the bases of convex optimization will be introduced, a theory that represents the main tool for solving the most classic optimization problems. The final part of the course will focus on advanced allocation techniques for multi-user systems, in which the presence of interference further complicates the optimization problem. Considering systems with increasing complexity, the traditional approach will also be integrated with the study of artificial intelligence algorithms, mainly based on deep reinforcement learning.
