The students who successfully completes the course will demonstrate a solid knowledge of the geometric crystallography and of the main experimental methods based on X-ray diffraction for structural investigations. They will be aware of the main applications of crystallography to the Earth Sciences and Chemistry. They will be able to understand the main contents of scientific papers dealing with crystalline structure of inorganic compounds, with particular attention to minerals.
