Learning outcomes

The current characteristics of the market marked by increased competition on a global scale together with the full recognition of the centrality of the consumer as a reference of each production activity, raises the issues of quantity and quality of goods produced and consumed and the distribution of such key factors for competitive the life of business.
The course aims to deepen the issues relating to qualitative and quantitative characterization of the products traded on national and international levels and patterns of consumption with particular reference to the agrifood sector.
More specifically, the course is to analyze the main issues relating to the calculation of the energy needs of an individual and community, through application of the most popular models, in order to understand the problems of malnutrition persist in the world.
Also, be taken into consideration the many categories of food products (conventional, organic, light, dietary supplements, fortified, functional, GMO, DOP and IGP) to review the definition of the characteristics and methods of production that characterize the light of current patterns of consumption more widespread.
