Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide the students with knowledge about etio-pathogenesis, epidemiology, diagnosis and prophylaxis, including basic rules of Veterinary Policy Regulation, of the infectious diseases of dogs.
Particular attention is focused to the role of dogs in the epidemiology of these diseases as source of infection for other dogs, as well as for farm animals. Moreover, the students must well know the routes of infections for humans when dogs are affected by zoonotic agents, in order to protect themselves and to be able to inform breeders and owners about possible risks.
Moreover the course aims to provide:
- the basics on the rules governing the purchase and sale of the well-being and identification of dogs and cats,
- the information necessary for the interaction with the Enti that deal with the sector (ENCI, Enti di Promozione Sportiva, Ministero delle Politiche Agricole e Sociali);
- the basic tools for correct professional communication.
