Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge relating to the nutritional requirements for dogs in the various physiological stages (maintenance, reproduction, growth, old age) and in sporting activity. Knowledge about the nutritional characteristics of different foods and their modifications induced by treatments (cooking) will be deepened. A part of the course will be dedicated to pet-food and the nutritional information provided by the label. Practical rationing will also be examined both through the use of commercial pet-food and through the traditional home-diet or the BARF diet, also with the aid of software. In addition, notes will be provided on the main dog diseases that benefit from the use of a specific dietary treatment.
