Learning outcomes

The course aims at providing students with the basic elements of knowledge of dog breeding and management techniques, with a focus on improving production and reproductive efficiency and animal welfare. The course also focuses on the knowledge of the external characteristics (phenotype) of the dog in order to evaluate its functional value. All aspects of the dog related to the structure and movement will be taken into consideration with particular reference to cinognostics, cinometry and biomechanics.
Moreover the course must provide the basics of the main economic concepts and terms for the financial economic management of profitable activities considering the problems of financing and the evaluation of the convenience of investments.
The student will have to understand and remember
with reference to the financial economic management of remunerative activities, the processes of value creation in economic, social and environmental terms, the assessment of the implicit remunerations of the factors contributed by the entrepreneur, the evaluation of the convenience of economic choices.
These theoretical foundations will have to be illustrated with appropriate technical terminology. The next step will be to apply these concepts in practical cases.
