Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide expertise for:
- identifying the hearing aid and the mechano-acoustic coupling most suitable for better compensation of hearing loss and for individual comfort;
- taking earmold impression of the ear canal; design and implementation of optimal acoustic coupling systems;
- execute anamnestic and instrumental investigations for the evaluation of the monaural and binaural auditory dynamic range of the subject in different S/N conditions;
- programming realistic therapeutic objectives based on the residual functional capability of the subject;
- management of the hearing aids technology; setting the amplification and signal to noise ratio for optimizing the residual auditory dynamic range and the confort of the subject;
- counseling in the choice of hearing aids and rehabilitative solutions;
- support the subject in the rehabilitation process: involvement of the subject in his rehabilitation plan and training the subject to the use of hearing aids;
- providing, fitting and checking of hearing aids; periodic checking of effectiveness and efficiency of acoustic devices.
