The module focuses on major contemporary issues relevant to commercial practice.
The objective of the course is to develop students’ commercial awareness, knowledge
and understanding of commercial law and what’s involved in commercial legal
practice. This will be done focusing on certain issues within commercial law and how
that law operates in practice, through an examination of case studies and case law in
addition to examining issues of legal practice in a commercial law context. The module
will allow students to develop core professional and practical skills essential for
pursuing a career in commercial legal practice such as legal writing, public speaking
and negotiation skills. In addition, guest speakers, with experience of professional
practice, will further the students’ insight into the legal skills necessary for commercial
practice.
