Web scraping is a technique for extracting information from website pages through automatic procedures. The possibility of using automatic methods makes this technique fundamental as the basis of various data analysis, statistical analysis and data mining procedures. The course aims to present and experiment the main tools for web scraping. To allow the development of a significant final project, some basic data analysis / visualization techniques will be presented. Furthermore, since the automatic scanning of a document through an automatic agent is not always legal, the course will also cover the ethical aspects related to the use of this technique.
