The course introduces students to the physics of semiconductor devices, with the aim of learning the basic technologies of the physics instruments used at present in research laboratories.
The proposed experiments employ different types of sensors, analog and digital electronic equipments needed to condition raw signals; the course provides also the basic knowledge for using general purpose microcontrollers in physics laboratories.
