Learning outcomes

The teaching objectives are: (i) the knowledge of the fundamental aspects of kinematics, statics and dynamics of the rigid body and rigid body systems, with in-depth study on the mechanics of vibrations; (ii) the study of the main problems of contact mechanics such as: static, sliding and rolling friction, analysis of contact actions in dry and lubricated contact, wear; (iii) the study of machine elements: gear wheel transmissions, gear trains, transmission with flexible elements, brakes, bearings.
