The purpose of the course is to give the basic elements of classical thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. The main topics are: principles and methods for the analysis of open and closed thermodynamic systems, properties of pure substances, reference cycles for the most significant thermal machines. A further objective is to analyze the fundamental mechanisms of heat transfer: conduction, radiation and convection.
