Learning outcomes

The course aims at providing the necessary knowledge for the design and the execution of buildings, referring to examples of detached houses (single-family houses). The course will be organized in different phases aimed at analysing the relationships that the project establishes with urban space and history, the technological components of the building construction in relation to different types of intervention and to the different contexts. At the end of the training process, the student will have to achieve the following competencies:
- knowledge of the basic principles of architecture and architectural composition;
- knowledge of materials and construction techniques and their proper use in works of architecture;
- ability to design a house in an urban context, from preliminary sketches to construction details.
