Learning outcomes

* Health technology assessment
Elements of Health Economics: supply and demand in health care, the main characteristics of the Italian health system, stakeholders in health care, financing and repayment systems. Health Technology Assessment (HTA): aims and tools. Economic evaluations in health care (complete and partial): analysis perspectives, costs, consequences, sensitivity analysis. The main techniques of economic evaluation in health: social costs, cost-effectiveness, cost-utility and cost benefit analysis.
* Health Legislation
The course of health legislation gives the basic understanding of the institutional, organizational and legislative structure of Italian health system related to both the Nation and the Regions. In particular, the legislation will be further explained in a chronological manner, in order to understand the evolution of the Italian health system (NHS) and the management of the pharmaceutical field, from the registration of drugs and medical devices, up to information and documentation on medicines and health products.
