Learning outcomes

The primary aim of the course is to critically analyze the various aspects of the modern organic synthesis, starting from the topics already examined during the courses of Organic Chemistry 1 and 2.
Topics include: formation of the chemical bond; main classes of organic reactions (additions, eliminations, pericyclic, redox); acid-base reactions, and hard-soft theory; the retrosynthetic approach; C-C bond forming reactions mediated by transition metals; retrosynthetis for chiral molecules: the chiron approach; industrial organic synthesis.
