Educational Goals: Knowledge of topics and basic methods of computational linguistics and automatic processing of language. Knowledge of the basic principles of quantitative and computational analysis of text.
Contents: Creation and use of corpora in computational linguistics. Statistical methods for the linguistic-quantitative analysis of text. Methods and resources for the linguistic annotation of corpora. Introduction to the main computational modeling techniques: automata and finite-state transducers, formal grammars, etc. Basic tools for the automatic processing of language: morphological analysers, PoS taggers, parsers. Models of computational semantics.
