The aim of the course is to provide students with a basic understanding of mechanisms regulating the inheritance of phenotypic traits and a basic knowledge of molecular biology useful for cultivar identification and biodiversity conservation. After completion of the course students will also appreciate the various genetic mechanisms of the evolution of crop plants.
