To provide the basic knowledge about animal feeding and nutrition. At this aim, the course deals with the main characteristics of feeds and their content of nutrients. Moreover, the main knowledge about nutrition physiology, animal metabolism, use of modern system to evaluate the nutritive value of feeds, voluntary dry matter intake and nutrition requirements of livestock will be provided. Finally, the student will acquire skills about the application of modern feeding systems in livestock production.
