To provide the basic knowledge about animal science, with special emphasis on anatomic and physiologic characteristics of the main organs and apparatus related to production and reproduction functions. A second aim is to provide the basic knowledge about milk production, animal growth and egg laying. Moreover, to provide tools and knowledge for the study of the livestock systems, including the basic principles about the agro-ecologic approach. Finally, to introduce the basic principles about animal breeding and genetics.
