Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to introduce the use of remote sensing for herbaceous and tree crops monitoring. The main remote sensing techniques and the main platforms and sensors used in precision agriculture will be illustrated. Students will acquire knowledge on the main techniques for monitoring the water, nutritional and phytosanitary status of herbaceous and tree crops. Specific focuses will deal the field phenotyping of tree crops and the weeds detection using RGB, multispectral and thermal images acquired from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
