Learning outcomes

To appraise the activities, the actors, the impacts of the bioeconomy
The different definitions of bioeconomy, the main articulations of the sector, the economic organization of the actors of the system will be discussed
To understand the bioeconomy as a socio-ecological system, and to evaluate the differences in terms of impact on natural resources of different organizational models of the bioeconomy
Students will learn the notions of natural capital, funds, stocks, flows and services, and will be able to recognize the relationships between the dynamics of social systems and ecological systems in relation to primary productions and their transformation.
To analyze the dynamics of the bioeconomy in real cases
Students will be able to analyze the dynamics of socio-ecological systems related to biomass transformation activities in some sectors of the bioeconomy, and will evaluate their environmental, social and economic impact
