The aim of the course is to enable students to understand specialized written and oral texts, with particular emphasis on those of a political, institutional and social nature; to understand and acquire the strategies of political communication, reaching CEFR level B1. In dealing with the above-mentioned sectorial languages, special attention will be paid to the international contexts in which the Portuguese language is spoken (Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia), from a sociolinguistic point of view (concept of linguistic variation, status of the Portuguese language in the socio-political contexts in which it is spoken, etc.).
