The course aims to identify the different patterns of State and their historical evolution with particular reference to the constitutional foundations of liberal and liberal-democratic State. They will be also investigated the institutional architecture and operation of contemporary representative regimes and some specific issues as the relationship between Parliament and Government, the judicial review of legislation, the effective protection of human rights.
