Learning outcomes

The course aims to give students knowledge about the main authors and theories of ethnographical studies. During the classes students will learn how to apply the concepts through group works and practical exercises of research on the field and ethnographic writing. The student once completed the course will be able to identify and use the main key concepts of ethnography with special regard to the field of marginality, total institutions, urban life, inter-culture, and every day interaction in general. The goal of the course is to give the future social worker the interpretative tools to understand the social and cultural contexts where she/he will work.
