Learning outcomes

The student will acquire the main framework characterizing the professional field of psychiatry, leading to master a guiding set of knowledge and skills in order to better operate in teamwork with the professional psychiatrist, following the necessary integration on both the (i) side of rehabilitation approaches on the individual, pharmacological/psychotherapeutic and (ii) the interpersonal and social plane of Community.
On these lines, it will be the focal the understanding the lines on which psychiatry moves professionalizing actions: (i) reading of the clinical features, etiology and social aspects of mental disorders according to the DSM -V, (ii) understanding main intervention protocols on major mental disorders with reference to causal factors and the interweaving with consequences on psychosocial dynamics, (iii) deepening of both preventive and rehabilitative/therapeutic actions, reaching an integrated frame of competence, in an way, psychiatrists, social services and social workers would professionally act to empower the Community psychosocial wellbeing .
