The course deals with the historical evolution of Russian culture, putting in evidence the intersemiotic complementarity between its verbal and visual modes. Students will acquire accuracy and a critical point of view when analysing cultural phenomena through literature, folklore, pictures, posters, music, films, and they will be able to conduct research and intersemiotic analysis about Russian cultural phenomena, aesthetics and ideological representations.
