What are the role and limits of economic policy? What motivations guide the collective choices of politicians? On the basis of what kind of models and empirical evidence are interventions chosen to stimulate economic growth? With what methods can its effects be reliably assessed?
The Economic Policy course tries to answer these and other questions with a double strategy. First, it studies the economic logic of public intervention, the introductory elements of the theory of social choices and policies for growth.
Second, it delves into empirical strategies that evaluate the effects of public policies and tries to draw more general lessons that can guide future interventions.
