Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete the course will show a solid knowledge of the main assumptions and theoretical and research approaches within the discipline, as well as a discussion on some contents and specific objects. In particular, she/he should develop an adequate knowledge in terms of: - Main theoretical assumptions in the study of the economic processes in the sociological field - Elements of comparison between economics and sociology in the study of the economy - Economy and society: because the economic action is embedded in the social and natural contexts and processes; evolution and specificity of economic institutions in contemporary societies - Main research fields in economic sociology (eg. Work, production, organizational processes, economic systems and local development and community welfare systems capitalism) and insights on some specific objects.
