This course examines various economic causes and consequences of population change in an international perspective. The consequences studied include the economic impact of immigrants, the growing pension burden as populations age, the effect of population growth on economic development. The course will also examine the economic causes of demographic behaviour such as fertility, marriage, migration and labor supply.
