The course will focus on the analysis of globalization processes from a sociological perspective within the framework of a broader problematization of the pathways of change in contemporary societies. In order to comprehensively frame the dynamics of social inclusion and exclusion operating in a globalized and constantly changing world, special attention will be paid to globalization as a multidimensional process that invites consideration of historical, social, cultural, political, and economic aspects.
Students will acquire the ability to understand the fundamental concepts of globalization through the latest sociological theories, with particular reference to the issues of social identities, political power, the new relevance of religion, the emergence of global conflicts, new economic and financial adjustment requirements at the national and supranational level.
